You know when you normally use Beige to describe something boring, like Mr Big on his life with his new wife, as if Beige is the worse thing you can have in your life. Sure grannies Beige slack is not where we want to be at, but Beige in a Colour tone? That’s something to get around. Plus for the majority of us, Beige can be a uniting factor - it suits most skin types. Oh yeah!
What is a Beige Pigment?
Just be prepared, we’re about to get a little hairdress-y on you.
In our Colour Number System, Colour pigments go from the Coolest .1 (Ash) to Warmest .6 (Red). Beige sits at .2, falling between .1 Ash a Cool Pigment and .3 Gold a Warm Pigment, making it a Cool pigment, but not as extreme as Ash. This is because it has Green Pigments (remember, not literally like a crazy Colour) that cool it down.
In basic words, Beige is a Cool Tone that isn’t as extreme as Ash. Beige is a softer, creamier pigment, that still leaves your Colour with dimension. You’ll find it in Blonde Colours because of how it adds a Natural, classic Tone to the Colour.
Why do I want it?
Finding the right Blonde can be hard. Yellow Blonde is horrid and Ash can wash you out, leaving Beige as a smoother option. It’s great for most skin Tones because of its delicate appearance and more Natural hues. And, of course, being a Cool Colour means it's a great Toner that will leave your Colour with the same kind of glow and shine you get from a Golden hue, while still giving you a smooth, Toned Colour. Oh did we also mention it's a fantastic Colour choice to give your skin a glow?
Where do I find it?
Of course, you’ll find it in Colours with Beige in its name, but more specifically you’ll find Beige pigments in any Colour with .2 in it e.g. 6.2 Dark Beige Blonde, 8.2 Light Beige Blonde. It is also the 02 in 902 Light Beige Blonde.
