Hair 101: Why You Should Be Toning With A Hair Colour

Because you need a Product that can keep up with your lifestyle.

How often do you find yourself looking at your Hair Colour and it’s looking back at you raw and brassy, and you’re thinking I just Coloured you yesterday - how do you look like this?

This is how we developed our affinity with Toning. Sick of using the off the shelf Toners that washed out as quickly as we applied them, we knew we needed something with more endurance that wasn’t dependant on how often we used them that week.

We found the solution.

Using a Cool Hair Colour and a No Lift Developer has changed how we look at Toning giving us 3 key benefits.

1. It has the stamina and longevity to keep up with our lifestyle. It offers better protection from the outside world that effects your Colour and means we Tone every 6-8 weeks, rather than multiple times a week.

2. We can choose the Cool Colour to Tone with, which means that we control how Cool we want our Colour to be.

For example.
If you have a serious amount of brassiness and Warmth, you can use an Ash hue for a strong Toning result to smooth out your Hair Colour.

When we don’t need the full Ash strength, we'll use a Beige hue for a weaker, creamier Tone.

This makes all the difference, particularly if your skin Undertone is suited to Beige rather than Ash or visa versa.

3. This Toning mix not only replenishes your Hair Colour but also leaves you with glossy, silky Hair. Its Cool pigment works to counteract Warmth and Golden hues in your Hair, while also adding and refreshing the pigment within the Hair strands. The result? A vibrant and lustrous transformation that speaks volumes.

What Colours can you Tone your Hair with?

We have taken the hard work out with the Toner Kit, so all you need to do is mix the No Lift Developer and 9.1 Light Ash Blonde in the applicator, shake and apply to your Hair.

If you want to choose your own Toning mix use a Cool Colour (Hair Colours with Ash or Beige in their name) that is the same level or Lighter than your Hair Colour mixed with a No Lift Developer.

Example: If you are a level 9 Light Blonde use 9.1 Light Ash Blonde or 10.2 Very Light Beige, based on your Colour preference, as they are the same level or Lighter than your Colour. If you used a 7.1 Ash Blonde or 8.2 Light Beige Blonde it will make your Colour Darker. We've made things easier by creating Toner Kits.
